Buckinghamshire DAAT are delighted to invite you to our Legal Highs Conference.
Date: November 12th 2015
Location: Kings Church,
Raans Road,
Amersham,
Buckinghamshire
HP6 6LX
Time: 09.00 to 16.30
“Legal highs” is the common term for New Psychoactive Substances (NPS). Many are currently legal, often unregulated substances although some – like Mephedrone – started as legal substances and were banned in 2010. However, “legal highs” remains a misleading catchall layman’s term for this family of substances.
The Buckinghamshire Drug and Alcohol Team (DAAT) commissioned a “legal highs” Needs Assessment in late 2013 which included field research, a national online survey (of users and non‐users) and a data capture exercise which was concluded in November 2014. This conference will give attendees the opportunity to hear about the results of Buckinghamshire’s needs assessment and follow on work from a range of speakers that will ensure delegates get a local, regional and national picture of NPS use from the following guest speakers:
-
Mephedrone and Service Handler Handbook Update – Tony D’Agostino
-
My Legal High Survey – Professor Neil McKegeney (Click here for the survey)
-
Legislation Updates – David Pickering, Buckinghamshire and Surrey Trading Standards
